Debutant Sadaf Fawad Khan, creative director at Silk by Fawad Khan showcased SFK Bridals at PFDC L’Oréal Paris Bridal Week 17 on Monday 16th October 2017. Sadaf’s unrelenting passion for creating and designing the collection is dedicated to and named for her daughter Elayna, meaning ‘Shining Light’, taking inspiration from the colours of the Moonbow, a lunar rainbow. Sadaf Fawad Khan and leading actor/personality Fawad Khan took to the ramp for the showcase finale.
Each design of the collection was set in singular metallic tones of red, blue, yellow, lilac and peach, reflecting the brilliance of the night sky. Incorporating the reflection and refraction of light that forms a rainbow, the motifs were embellished with crystals for outfits that shine and dazzle the senses. Using rich fabrics, texturing and detailing, the collection was designed to be a celebration of Pakistani handcrafted workmanship, fused into unique silhouettes of elegant simplicity.
“We’ve worked hard to put together a collection which will be refreshing to the eyes. There’s quite a lot of colour alongside sparkle that we’ll be bringing to the stage. I’ve worked on a very motif oriented collection leaving obvious negative space for the work to stand out instead of an all over embellishment style which had lately been very dominant in the market. Keeping my fingers crossed for a positive response.” said Sadaf Fawad Khan.
Silk by Fawad Khan and SFKBridals is the brainchild of Sadaf and her husband, Fawad Khan – one of Pakistan’s most beloved actor, musician and leading personalities. Designed to appeal to the fashion-conscious woman looking for elegantly tailored outfits in a range of original styles and exceptional looks, from vibrant, contemporary prints to traditional handicrafts and embellishment techniques on luxurious fabrics.
that’s a really nice collection for bridals
