The Janaan famed actor Bilal Ashraf has told that his character in his next big screen project Rangreza is not inspired from Rockstar’s Ranbir Kapoor in Bollywood but a tribute to Junaid Jamshed and he has taken inspiration from Junoon, Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd.

“Ali Zain will take you on a musical journey, which has drama, romance, action and comedy,” told Ashraf during an interview with behtareen.pk. “It has been the most important character that I have played from an acting point of view,” he added.

Ashraf, who has previously done Operation 021, Yalghaar and Janaan, will be playing the character of a musician for the first time in Rangreza. When asked if he took inspiration from Bollywood’s Ranbir Kapoor, who played a similar character in Rockstar, the actor answered, “I think there is no comparison in the sense that he is a fantastic actor, he is brilliant. I have done a humble effort and taken inspiration from Junaid Jamshed, Junoon, Led Zepplen, and Pink Floyyd.”

The actor also credited Shazzy Alam and Hamza Akram Qawwal for teaching him play musical instruments. “I learned guitars from Shazzy and Hamza sat with me on piano and they helped me a lot,” he told.

Rangreza is releasing on December 21st, 2017, with Shaan Shahid, Humaima Malik and Mohib Mirza starrer Arth 2. When asked how he saw the competition, the actor told, “I won’t call it a competition. Arth is a completely different film. It’s a mature love story while Rangreza is simple fun loving film.”

The film is directed by debutant Aamir Mohiuddin, written by Akhtar Qayyum and co-produced by Usman Malkani and Yasir Mohiuddin. Josh Band’s lead vocalist Qurram Hussain, Hamza Akram Qawwal, Jay Ali have composed the music of the film.
