The two-time runners up of Pakistan Super League (PSL), Quetta Gladiators came as one of the favourites in season III but did not get an ideal start. After five matches, it stands only above the winless Lahore Qalandars on points table. However, the Gladiators captain Sarfaraz Ahmed is very hopeful that his team will bounce back in remaining matches.

“I agree that our performance was a little disappointing but I am very hopeful that we will bounce back in rest of our matches and overcome our mistakes,” told Ahmed during training session at ICC Academy in Dubai.

When asked how excited was he for the PSL final in Karachi, he told, “it is very pleasant to know that the final of PSL III will be played in Karachi. Me, as a player and a Karachiite, wish to play the final in Karachi.”

Last year, the PSL final was played in Lahore but Gladiators foreign players including Kevin Pietersen denied traveling to Pakistan. This year too, the former English great has announced not to fly to Pakistan if his team qualifies for the playoffs. On that, Ahmed told, “we are currently not thinking about our playing XI for the final but will definitely ensure to take best possible foreign players to Pakistan if we qualify.”

Yesterday, Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board, Mr. Najam Sethi reassured that the final of PSL season III will be played in Karachi.
