As much as i love Ayeza khan and her acting, her recent scene in her new drama “Lapata” has been really objectionable. Just as Dunk was a great drama i’ve high hopes from Lapata as well. But our drama industry promoting “women falsely accusing men of harrassment” is unacceptable.

Lesson we get from this scene:
Don’t easily trust everything you see on social media‼#laapata #ayezakhan #geetiprincess pic.twitter.com/vmBtHo63S8

Shame on Hum Tv for trivializing harrassment in its drama “Lapata”, that too during the ongoing femicide in the country. How can Ayeza Khan be even comfortable doing such problematic roles.

Appalled 2 c Pakistani drama ‘laapata’ depicting ‘harassment’ as a blackmailing tool by women. Harassment is real, hurtful & destructive! It’s not comics! It’s time we showed seriousness 2 issues faced by our women. It’s destroys you.. pic.twitter.com/uIUJ41x7K2

@Ayezakhan_ak ‘s new show just invalidated evry woman’s peril in a single stroke.woman w/ a social media presence falsely accusing a man of harassment just so that she doesn’thave to pay?@Humtvnetwork no wonder no one believes the ones who actually experience this.
What a shame— Armana Mela (@MelaArmana) July 29, 2021
In #Laapata, Ayeza Khan’s character uses social media to accuse a man of harassment. this is what you guys choose to portray in your dramas? Making a joke out of issues that are literally destroying this nation. Actors & writers must act more responsibly. So disappointed.

Ayeza khan too is v problematic tbh. First she acted in that Khalil ur rehman drama and now she’s acting in this drama in which her charachter falsely accuses that shopkeeper of harrasment to get free stuff,, it’s so messed up.

Taking into your account, plenty of harassment accusations and cases have been coming out for a long time now in Pakistan. Just two days ago, actor Usman Mukhtar accused his fellow female artist of harassing, blackmailing, and bullying him online.
Similarly, a high-profile harassment case of Ali Zafar-Meesha Shafi is still in court. On the other hand, sexual crimes cases have also seen a massive increase during the last two years.
