‘Ertugrul Ghazi’ breaks viewership records in Pakistan

Within few days’ time, ‘Ertugrul Ghazi’, a Turkish drama serial based on Islamic history, has broken all-time Pakistan’s Youtube records.

According to the details, ‘Ertugrul Ghazi’ has crossed 100 Million views in just 18 days and set a new record, meanwhile, it had lucrative vieweship on television too.

It must be noted here that ‘Ertugrul Ghazi’, dubbed in Urdu, has been aired in Pakistan on the special directives of Prime Minister Imran Khan. PM Khan wanted Pakistani youth to come to know about Islamic history.

The first episode of the drama serial was telecasted on April 25 on PTV’s Youtube channel. There are total five seasons and around 150 episodes of this drama serial.

On the other hand, some voices raised from Pakistan’s entertainment industry against airing ‘Ertugrul Ghazi’ in the country.

WAAR actor Shan Shahid thinks that PTV should promote its own content and artists. Veteran actress Reema Khan also supported Shan’s opinion and stated that the authorities should promote their own artists, who are also the taxpayers of this country, instead of buying foreign content.
