Hamza Ali Abbasi, a well-known actor and Islamic student, has finally addressed the confusion surrounding his temporary break from the media industry.

With a fan base of over 1.1 million on Instagram, Hamza is known for his hit dramas like Pyare Afzal, Mann Mayal, Alif, and Jaan e Jahan. He has also appeared in blockbuster films including Jawani Phir Nahi Aani, Umro Ayar, and The Legend of Maula Jatt.

“I Didn’t Quit – I Took a Break”

Recently, Hamza appeared on Mansoor Ali Khan’s podcast. There, he set the record straight:

“I didn’t bid farewell to showbiz. I clearly said in my video that I’m not quitting — just taking a break.”

He explained how his words were misunderstood and taken out of context. The video, where he mentioned following Islamic scholar Javed Ahmad Ghamidi, led to misleading headlines the next day.

Learning Islam in Dallas

Hamza shared that he traveled to Dallas, USA, to study Islam under Javed Ghamidi. He wanted to gain deeper knowledge and understanding, but never intended to leave acting for good.

Media Misinterpretation

Hamza expressed frustration with how people often watch short clips and ignore the full message:

“It’s unfortunate that people here don’t watch the whole video. Islam and entertainment are seen as opposites in our industry, which is why such headlines spread.”

A Balanced Life

Hamza believes one can be part of the entertainment industry while following religious values. His recent drama Jaan e Jahan marks his strong comeback to the screen, proving that faith and art can coexist.
