Pakistan’s only Olympic medalist boxer Hussain Shah bashed British boxer, Amir Khan, for questioning his achievements for his home country.

In a video message just after Khan was quoted saying ‘What Hussain Shah has done for Pakistan’ to journalists via video conference, Shah highlighted his achievements for Pakistan from Olympic Bronze to several medals in different Asian, South Asian and world events.

“I am the only medalist in Olympics for Pakistan, five-time South Asian Games gold-medalist, Asian Championship gold-medalist, and silver-medalist. How can Amir Khan, who doesn’t have any right to own Pakistan, raise doubts on my achievements?” he questioned.

“I am still getting medals for Pakistan through my son who refused Japanese passport just to continue representing Pakistan,” he added.

Meanwhile, Shah, who resides in Japan, revealed that Khan’s father didn’t respond to AIBA president’s offer to let his son represent Pakistan. “He [Amir Khan] was once offered to fight for Pakistan and the offer was made by the then AIBA president Anwar Chaudhry to his father who didn’t respond to it,” he maintained.

Former boxer claimed that Khan is taking interest in Pakistan’s boxing just to do business. “He has nothing to do with Pakistan’s boxing future, he is just interested in doing business,” he concluded.
