Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB)’s Chief Executive said they have invited England cricket team for three T20Is in January 2021.

Speaking to ARY News, Khan said they have extended an invitation to England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) following a short window early next year. “Yes, we have invited England to play three T20Is in Pakistan in January next year,” confirmed the CEO.

Adding on, Khan said it will not be a reciprocated series but a small gesture from ECB in order to repay for their tour to England in summer this year during COVID-19 times.

“This wasn’t under talks when our team was playing there. We have just contacted them a couple of weeks ago and after a successful discussion, we officially sent them an invitation to tour Pakistan,” he said.

On the other hand, ECB has confirmed receiving an invitation from PCB for a short white-ball series. “After discussions with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), we can confirm the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has received an invitation in respect of a short white-ball tour to Pakistan for England Men during the early part of 2021,” ECB’s statement read.

It must be noted here that the tour will highly depend on the current COVID-19 situation and travel restrictions.
