Former Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul-Haq has responded to praise from India’s Virender Sehwag. Speaking with PSL team Peshawar Zalmi, Inzamam said compliments from a former rival carry “special significance.”
Sehwag recently praised Inzamam’s cool mindset while chasing targets. He urged young players to learn from Inzamam’s calm and calculated approach.
Inzamam said:
“I’m genuinely humbled by Sehwag’s words. We had many on-field battles. His praise means a lot.”
Inzamam agreed that chasing is not just about technique. “It’s more about temperament,” he noted.
He added:
“You must read the match quickly, spot weak bowlers, and believe in yourself till the end.”
The former batting star also shared his thoughts on modern T20 cricket. He called it a mental battle rather than just a power-hitting contest.
Moreover, he added:
“T20 is all about smart decisions. You don’t need to hit every ball. Timing your attack is what matters.”
Inzamam is known for his calm under pressure and match-winning knocks. His insight offers a valuable lesson for today’s young cricketers.
