Iqrar Ul Hassan, the popular Pakistani host and crime reporter known for his show “Sar-e-Aam”, has often found himself in the spotlight not just for his professional work, but also for his personal life. His marriages have been a subject of public discussion and controversy, especially following his third marriage in 2023 to anchor Aroosa Khan.
Iqrar first tied the knot with journalist Qurat-ul-Ain Hassan in 2005, and later in 2012, he married television anchor Farah Yousuf. His latest marriage to Aroosa Khan has further drawn attention, sparking debates about his personal life. Iqrar has a son from his first marriage with Qurat-ul-Ain, and it’s known that his first and third wives share a good relationship. However, after his third marriage, Farah Yousuf has been less visible alongside Iqrar.
In a recent appearance on “Coffee with Samaa”, a talk show hosted by Naeem Hanif and Bushra on Samaa TV, Iqrar Ul Hassan opened up about his second marriage to Farah Yousuf, providing more context around it. Reflecting on their relationship, Iqrar shared, “Farah was already an established anchor when we were both in the struggling phase of our careers. She was hosting “Raat Gaye” on PTV and had also worked with Dunya News and ARY Digital. When she moved from Lahore to Karachi, I invited her over to my house, and our meetings became frequent. I don’t recall who proposed first because things just fell into place naturally. We decided to get married in 2012, and I believe it was my decision. At the time of our Nikah, my first wife, Annie, was on the phone with me.”
Iqrar also shed light on how his second marriage came into the public eye. He recounted, “I was in Paris with Farah when a fan took our picture and shared it online. That’s when I publicly addressed it and made it clear that Farah is my second wife. It was quite shocking for many fans at that time, and there was a lot of criticism because our society does not easily accept second marriages.”
Addressing his third marriage to Aroosa Khan, Iqrar revealed that it also developed after frequent meetings. However, he emphasized that he does not advocate for multiple marriages, stating, “No one knows my situation, and I don’t endorse multiple marriages. I am advising everyone against it. I don’t have a specific reason for my marriages, but I urge people not to follow in my footsteps.”
