Director Nabeel Qureshi is currently fully engaged in promoting his upcoming film, Quaid-e-Azam Zindabad. But amidst it all, he came across Bollywood’s Akshay Kumar’s latest offering, Raksha Bandhan, and was quick to notice how eerily similar it looks to one of his movies. Qureshi and Fizza Ali Meerza’s film Load Wedding was released in 2018 and several viewers pointed out how the two films carry the same undertones.

Raksha Bandhan stars Bhumi Padnekar alongside Kumar, and the trailer shows how the two leads wish to marry each other, but can’t seem to, as Kumar’s sisters are still unmarried. Similary, Load Wedding revolved around Fahad Mustafa’s character Raja, who wanted to marry his childhood sweetheart, played by Mehwish Hayat. However, his mother insists on no wedding bells for Raja until his sister gets married first.

Taking to Twitter, Qureshi retweeted a tweet with a jab of his own. “Load wedding Pro Max ??? Ya load wedding dikhana bhai – thora aur expensive main,” he wrote.

Other netizens also agreed how Bollywood has copied the film’s plot with just minor tweaks.

While some hinted how imitation to this level cannot be considered flattery.
