Lux Style Awards called off due to COVID-19 epidemic

This year’s Lux Style Awards have been called off due to the ongoing COVID-19 epidemic, the management confirmed on social media.

According to an official statement, all the funds for the show will be utilized in helping people to fight with widely-spread coronavirus. The Lux Style Awards have joined hands with Akhuwat Foundation to better serve needy people in this challenging time.

“As Pakistan faces one of its biggest challenges of COVID-19, we stand together with the nation. LUX Style Awards (LSA) has decided to not go ahead with the grand awards ceremony in 2020,” the statement read.

“The show’s budget will be redirected to partner with the Akhuwat Foundation in order to support the impacted members of the entertainment and fashion industry,” it added.


Amir Paracha, Chairman and CEO of Unilever Pakistan, also added “The Lux Style Awards have always stood as one the most esteemed platforms to recognize and celebrate the best in Pakistan’s an entertainment & fashion industry. We recognize the impact of this postponement and urge everyone to stay together in strength and spirit.”

It must be noted here that the whole world is affected by the spread of this delay virus which has taken plenty of lives. Al public gatherings, sports and entertainment events have been postponed for an indefinite period.
