Pakistani superstar Mahira Khan has finally addressed a long-standing question: Will she ever work in Bollywood again?

While promoting her upcoming film Love Guru in the USA alongside Humayun Saeed, the Raees actress responded to a fan’s query with a thoughtful and balanced take.

Mahira, who starred opposite Shah Rukh Khan in the 2017 Bollywood hit Raees, said:

“I think we need to focus inwards; we need to focus on our own industry. I’m someone who doesn’t believe in the cancel culture or boycotts. I’m speaking broadly—I don’t think it’s the right approach. But given the current situation, we’re all emotional… We should focus on ourselves. Also, in the end, it’s your country which is your safe space. I believe we should invest in ourselves, in Pakistan.”

Her remarks have gone viral on social media, sparking mixed reactions. Some praised her for promoting growth within Pakistan’s entertainment industry, while others felt she avoided a firm stance on the India-Pakistan entertainment divide.

One user commented, “She gave a politically correct answer, but fans wanted a firmer position.” Another said, “She’s right—we should focus on the Pakistani drama industry, which is one of Asia’s biggest.”

Known for her stellar roles in Humsafar, Sadqay Tumhare, and Superstar, Mahira Khan remains one of Pakistan’s most influential voices in entertainment. Whether or not she returns to Bollywood, her message of self-investment and unity continues to resonate.
