Mosque video case closed against Saba, Bilal

Lahore sessions court has acquitted actor Saba Qamar and singer Bilal Saeed in a case against them for shooting music video in historical Wazir Khan mosque.

According to the details, additional sessions judge Mahmood Mushtaq gave verdict of acquitting the singer-actor duo.

The case against them was under the Article 295 of Pakistan Panel Code (PPC) which states; “Under Article 295 of the PPC, “Whoever destroys, damages or defiles any place of worship, or any object held sacred by any class of persons with the intention of thereby insulting the religion of any class of persons or with the knowledge that any class of persons is likely to consider such destruction damage or defilement as an insult to their religion shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to two years, or with fine, or with both.”

In 2020, Saba and Bilal got into hot waters after one of their behind-the-scenes dance video from mosque’s premises went viral on social media.

The on-screen couple faced immense backlash on social media.
