Renowned Pakistani actor Imran Abbas, known for his stellar performances in hit dramas like “Khuda Aur Mohabbat” and “Dil-e-Muztar”, continues to make waves beyond Pakistan’s borders. With ventures into Bollywood and his recent role in the Punjabi film “Jee Ve Sohneya Jee”, Abbas has solidified his place as a versatile talent in the entertainment industry.

In a recent interview, Abbas reflected on his Bollywood journey, addressing misconceptions and shedding light on his experiences working across borders.

The actor shared that he faced criticism and skepticism when he revealed being offered prominent Bollywood projects, including “Aashiqui 2”, “PK”, and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s “Heeramandi”. “Many people were trolling me when I shared that I was offered projects like “Aashiqui 2”, “PK”, and “Heeramandi”, but they later found out that all of it was true,” Abbas clarified. “People can have a limited vision, and it was a big deal for them that someone can get those offers, but I have seen the world, and I get many such big offers.”

His statement highlighted the challenges actors face when navigating international opportunities and addressing public perceptions.

Abbas also tackled the misconception that Pakistani actors have a “complex” about Bollywood. He firmly disagreed, explaining the benefits of collaboration with India’s larger film industry. “The truth is Bollywood is a much bigger industry, and we can work, learn, and collaborate with them. This will increase the quality of work in Pakistan too,” Abbas said.

He emphasized that working together is not a matter of inferiority but an opportunity for mutual growth and enhancement of creative and technical standards. “This is not about having a complex,” Abbas asserted, calling for more collaboration between the two industries.
