PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi confirmed that the Pakistan women’s team will play their matches at a neutral venue. The decision follows the hybrid model agreed between the PCB and BCCI earlier this year.
Naqvi stated that the ICC and BCCI will decide the neutral venue.
He said:
“Just like India played at a neutral venue in the Champions Trophy, we’ll do the same. An agreement is an agreement — it must be followed.”
As per the hybrid model, if either India or Pakistan hosts an ICC event, the other team will play at a neutral venue. This model will remain valid until 2027.
India is set to host the Women’s ODI World Cup from September 29 to October 26. Australia are the defending champions.
Pakistan recently secured their place in the tournament by winning all five matches in the qualifiers. They defeated Ireland, Scotland, West Indies, Thailand, and Bangladesh.
Naqvi praised the team’s performance and said a reward would be announced.
He noted:
“The team played as a strong unit and made full use of home advantage. Women’s cricket in Pakistan is on the rise.”
