The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has dismissed reports claiming that Chairman Mohsin Naqvi is stepping down after becoming the President of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC).

Rumours of Naqvi’s resignation surfaced over the weekend, mainly due to his new role at the ACC. However, a PCB official clarified that these claims were untrue.

The official stated:

“There is no truth to the resignation reports. Mr. Naqvi remains fully committed to Pakistan cricket and continues his work as PCB Chairman.”

The official also emphasized that holding dual roles at the PCB and ACC is manageable with proper time management.

Moreover, they added:

“It’s an honour for Pakistan to have Mr. Naqvi leading the ACC. He has no plans to resign from the PCB at this time.”

Naqvi was elected unopposed as the ACC President last week, becoming the first Pakistani since 2008 to hold the position. He officially took over on April 3, 2025.

This marks a significant leadership shift in Asian cricket, as Naqvi takes on a prestigious role while continuing his duties as PCB Chairman.
