Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB)’s Director Media, Sami-ul-Hasan Burney informed that two foreign cricketers and a local staff member tested COVID-19 positive out of 244 PCR tests.

According to Burney, as many as 244 members from the bio-secure bubble were tested immediately after Fawad Ahmed of Islamabad United tested COVID-19 positive yesterday.

“Out of 244 PCR tests, three have tested positive including two foreign cricketers and a local staff member. Three of them have been put into isolation on a separate floor in a local hotel,” he shared.

The Director of Media said the league will continue in full swing with the attendance of 50 percent crowd. “The remaining PSL 6 matches will continue as per the schedule and 50 percent crowd will come in each match. Today Islamabad United will take on Quetta Gladiators at 7 pm as per schedule,” he said.

“We will have a virtual meeting with the franchise owner today to discuss the roadmap moving forward. We will ensure that COVID-19 SoPs comes into effect with strict vigilance for the sake of this league,” he added.

It must be noted here that PSL 6’s 12th match was postponed after Fawad tested COVID-19 positive. Both the teams went under COVID-19 testing followed by other members who were a part of COVID-19 bubble.
