Like always, this year too, Maulana Popalzai of Peshawar announced sighting the crescent of Ramazan a day before the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee headed by Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman. Once again, it created much debate and raises questions on the authenticity of both bodies. But now, it seems like the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee is ready to address the concern of millions of people and announces to meet in Peshawar this year for the sighting the crescent of Shawwal.
The meeting for sighting the crescent of Shawwal 1438 AH will be held in the evening of Sunday, the 25th June, 2017 corresponding (29Lh Ramazan, 1438 Hijri) in the Office of the Administrator (Auqaf), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Eidgah Charsadda Road, Peshawar. Whereas, meetings of Zonal/District Ruet-e-Hilal Committees will be held at their respective Headquarters at the same time.
