Sajal Aly is all caught up in promoting her new film What’s Love Got To Do With It on an international scale, produced by Jemima Goldsmith. In an interview at the Red Sea International Film Festival Saudi Arabia, the actress was asked about marriages – given the plot and the nature of the film – and Aly responded ever so gracefully about what she feels about getting hitched in general.

When asked whether she prefers love marriages or arranged marriages, she responded “Well, for me it’s too early to be saying anything about arranged or love marriages, but I just believe in love marriages; I just believe in love. And anyway, wedding/shaadi is a risk! Be it arranged or love; that’s all I can say!”

She also gave an insight into her thoughts on her character, Maymouna, and how much she relates to her as she’s representing a major chunk of South Asian women. To put things into context of the personal life of the actress, Sajal got married to actor Ahad Raza Mir in 2020 in a private wedding ceremony in the United Arab Emirates, but the couple parted ways in 2022.
