Lahore Qalandars’ all-rounder Sikandar Raza has opened up about his dramatic last-minute return to Pakistan for the PSL 10 final.
The Zimbabwean star played a vital role in Lahore’s thrilling six-wicket win over Quetta Gladiators at Gaddafi Stadium. Raza remained unbeaten on 22 runs off just seven balls, finishing the game alongside Kusal Perera, who smashed an unbeaten 62 off 31 balls.
Back Just in Time
Raza rejoined the Qalandars squad just minutes before the toss. He had just wrapped up a Test match against England at Trent Bridge, where he bowled 25 overs and batted for more than 20.
Raza said, describing his hectic 24-hour journey:
“Had dinner in Birmingham, breakfast in Dubai, lunch in Abu Dhabi, and dinner in Pakistan.”
Team Spirit Above All
Raza said he couldn’t miss the final.
He added:
“I know the team truly wanted me here. The efforts the team owners and captain went through to get me here are unbelievable.”
Lahore Qalandars Make History
Lahore Qalandars chased 202 and sealed the win on the second last ball of the match. This marks their third PSL title and third win under Shaheen Shah Afridi’s captaincy.
Raza’s return and Perera’s brilliance capped a remarkable finish to PSL 10.
