Kamran Akmal once again comes forward in support of his brother Umar Akmal who has been suspended to play any form of cricket by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) under their article 4.7.1 which is all about anti-corruption.

In a presser at National Stadium Karachi (NSK), Kamran confidently defended his brother and national cricketer in corruption allegations. “I know Umar very well and I don’t think he can corrupt the game at all. I am disappointed to see how this case has been portrayed by some people very close to us,” Akmal said it with extreme disappointment.

“PCB has suspended him following a few allegations but they are yet to make a final decision. Wait for it, and then say whatever you want,” Akmal said with immense disappointment,” he added.

The wicket-keeper batsman believes that whatever the decision comes, will be in favor of his brother. “I am confident that Umar has done nothing wrong and everyone will come to know about it,” he concluded.

It must be noted here that PCB’s anti-corruption unit found Umar involved in suspicious activities. He was reportedly in contact with the bookie and had fixed the first match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season five. He was immediately suspended and moved to Lahore. PCB is making further investigation over the issue.
