Pakistan is going through a tough time in cricket after their early exit from the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The host nation failed to win a single match, leading to harsh criticism. Amid this, former Pakistan cricketer Umar Akmal has raised concerns about the PCB’s treatment of players, particularly Mohsin Naqvi.

Akmal, who hasn’t played for Pakistan since 2019, revealed that he attempted to reach out to Naqvi and the PCB but faced rude responses.

He explained:

“I have tried calling the chairman’s manager and others, but they were rude, saying they will inform me when the chairman is available, then hanging up on me.”

Akmal made it clear that the PCB is meant to support the players. “Someone should tell them, the PCB is for the players. If they don’t have a good relationship with the players, where will they go?” he said, emphasizing the importance of respectful communication.

Despite the negative treatment, Akmal believes he still has 4-5 years of cricket left in him and hopes for a more positive attitude from the PCB.

Pakistan’s performance in the Champions Trophy was dismal. They lost to New Zealand and India, with the match against Bangladesh washed out due to rain. This left them with just one point in the tournament.
