Vasay Chaudhry didn’t like his fellow artist Yasir Hussain questioning the purpose of some of the Pakistani films such as Jawani Phir Nahi Ani (JPNA) and Punjab Nahi Jaungi (PNJ).
In an interview with Express Tribune, Yasir responded to the criticism he faced for his upcoming biopic based on serial killer Javed Iqbal.
“Someone asked me what would be the message of this film? What’s the purpose of it? I want to know what kind of message does Jawani Phir Nahi Ani, Punjab Nahi Jaungi, or such films really give out?” Yasir questioned.

While reacting to Yasir’s statement, Vasay called out the actor and said JPNA and PNJ revived the Pakistani film industry.
“Besides providing quality family entertainment, these films played a vital role in the growth and resurfacing of Pakistani box office so that films like ‘Lahore Say Agay’ could also run in cinemas,” he wrote on Instagram.
Yasir clarified the fuzz and replied by saying that he didn’t mean to target particular films.
It must be noted here that JPNA and its sequel was written by Vasay and he also appeared in the film as a supporting character.
