During a recent interview with a local news outlet, television personality Veena Malik revealed her struggles with opening up to others. The Bigg Boss 4 star spoke with the host about her difficulty in forming close relationships with people in the media industry, despite being a part of it for a long time both in her home country and abroad.

Veena Malik confessed that she does not have any media friends with whom she can casually text or spend time. She attributed her shyness as the primary reason for her inability to connect with others easily.

“I’ve been a part of the big industry, across the border and here – for a very very long time, but I have zero media friends. I don’t have the type of friendship with everyone that we text or talk about, or we would roam around together. I personally feel that I’m very shy. If you tell me to go outside and eat, and I’m getting a lot of attention or something, I can’t eat. My food doesn’t digest,” she shared.

She went on to explain that the camera provided her with a sense of comfort, allowing her to express herself freely as an artist. However, getting to know her on a personal level was a challenge, as she had difficulty forming close relationships.

“And the second reason is that I’m an introvert. It’s impossible for me to open up to people, especially if there’s no camera. I think the camera is something around me that I feel really, really at peace with, that I feel like expressing myself as an artist. But if anyone wants to know me personally, that’s near impossible. In school, I just had one best friend, and it took three-four years to develop that friendship,” she added.
