Remember, in a viral video on social media, Naila requested the government to provide financial assistance for artists. She also shared that it’s been six years that she is suffering from cancer and was admitted to the hospital due to infection.
“I have been suffering from cancer for the last six years. Meanwhile, I have always thought about having no support from the government for artists, especially seniors and those ailing ones,” she had said.
Naila suggested authorities make a way to pay artists an amount for their re-run projects. “Earlier, when I joined PTV, I used to get a certain amount for my re-run dramas. But, later on, that thing stopped. The last drama I did, re-ran at least four times but I didn’t get anything for it. Authorities should look into it,” Naila was quoted saying.
Later on, reacting to this video, Senator Faisal Javed shared that the government was planning to legislate on this matter.
