The world of music and entertainment has been plunged into mourning, with the untimely death of renowned Indian singer, KK. Born as Krishnakumar Kunnath, the singer passed away shortly after performing live in a concert in Kolkata, India, at the age of 53.  

Ever since his demise, condolences have been pouring incessantly, with people not only from India sharing their grief, but also Pakistan, as KK’s music touched hearts on a global level. Some of his notable hits include Pal, Khuda Jaane, Dil Ibaadat, and a lot more. 

KK’s untimely passing undoubtedly serves as a massive tragedy, as his fanbase associated his songs with their childhood and some of the best moments of their lives. Many Pakistani celebrities took to their social media to share their thoughts and condolences. 

Actor, musician Farhan Saeed shared he was ‘heartbroken’ over the news in a couple of Instagram stories. 

Actress Minal Khan found the news of his passing ‘unbelievable’. 

A few prominent personalities shared covers of KK’s songs, such as Momina Mustehsan, who also shared her condolences for Sidhu Moose Wala’s death. 

“Our physical existence is so frail. One moment we are here, the next we are not. Heartbreaking news of both these legends’ sudden passing. Serves as a reminder of human mortality and that the only thing we get to leave in this realm is our legacy. Both these gentlemen will live forever – not just through their craft and contribution to music, but their service to humanity,” she wrote. 

“KK sang this two nights ago, at his last concert. His voice has been a background score to so many people’s lives. Through every emotion – from making us smile to making us cry through his heart wrenching “tadap tadap”, KK will always be with us,” she added.

Strings band members Faisal Kapadia and Bilal Maqsood also took to Instagram to share their condolences, with the former dedicating a post to the late singer.

“I am shocked… can’t believe it. Always loved his work and his soulful voice. Gone too soon,” he wrote, followed by a lyric from his song Pal.

Singers Ali Azmat and Bilal Saeed also shared their feelings, with the former writing: “Gone from the world, but not our hearts!”

Illustrious musician A.R. Rehman also took to Twitter to mourn the singer’s passing. “Dear KK, what’s the hurry buddy? Gifted singers and artists like you made this life more bearable,” he wrote. 

It is evident that KK’s legacy will live on, as he might have departed, but he has left his soulful gems behind for the world to enjoy for decades to come. Rest in peace, KK. You will be missed, dearly.
