Much thanks to the filmmakers of the country, the future of local cinema looks bright for the upcoming year as well. While this year we saw some chartbusters come our way, the next one promises to be just as fulfilling when it comes to new releases.

Having said that, the dynamic filmmaking duo of Nabeel Qureshi and Fizza Ali Meerza have announced not one but two film releases scheduled for the upcoming year. The pair has helmed acclaimed movies like Actor in Law and Load Wedding and are now all geared up for a comeback with films titled Quaid-e-Azam Zindabad and Fat Man in 2020.

In fact, they are currently holding auditions for yet-to-be-announced roles in the films.

The cast of the movies is still under wraps, but speculation over the plots has been going on for a while. Apparently, one is supposed to be an action-comedy of sorts, while Fat Man gives off major superhero vibes.

According to the duo, the main purpose behind releasing two films in one year is the ban on Indian films. “Due to the ban on Indian films, we believe that it is more important than ever to support Pakistani cinema thus we have chosen to make two films. Our aim is to continue releasing quality content which pushes the boundaries and meets audience’ expectations,” they said.

And with that, our hopes are incredibly high for 2020’s cinema releases.
