Pakistani actor Shan Shahid bashed Pakistan Television (PTV) authorities for giving hype to ‘Ertugrul’, a drama based on Khilafat-e-Usmania, instead of promoting its own history and heroes.
Shan replied to Senator Faisal Javed Khan on Twitter who shared the Youtube link of Ertugral in Urdu. “Try to find our own history and it’s hero’s,” he wrote.

A lot of people came in defense of PTV for showing Islamic history to the youth of Pakistan. A twitter user wrote, “We have already worked so much on showing Pakistan’s history, now it is time to show our youth some Islamic history.”

In reply to this tweet, Shan clarified his point and said “It is good enough but how long we will stand behind someone else’s work. PTV should produce epics like this.” “Where is the funding?” he asked.

Moreover, Shan, while replying to another user, said that making such dramas in Pakistan needs huge support from the government.
