Usman Mukhtar’s ‘Bench’ nominated for Cannes Festival


Usman Mukhtar’s short film named ‘Bench’ has been nominated for Cannes International Independent Film Festival.

Mukhtar revealed his yet another achievement on Instagram with a post featuring ‘Bench’ poster.

“With great humility, joy and pride do we announce that Bench has been selected at the first Cannes International Independent Film Festival – CIIFF,” he wrote.

“We strive for the love of art and cinema and hope to reach new heights. we will continue making more films and also make it to the one and only Cannes Film Festival one day,” he added.

It is pertinent to mention here that ‘Bench’ is a dialogue centric short film featuring Rubya Chaudhry as one of the leads. In its trailer, Rubya can be seen walking towards a bench after purchasing two packets of cigarettes. Her character is giving a monologue to the audience about decisions she regrets one of which she aims to rectify.
