Pakistani actress Mahira Khan is currently in hot debate for all the wrong reasons. Earlier this week, some paparazzi leaked her pictures with Bollywood’s Ranbir Kapoor from New York, where they met in July this year. Keyboard Jihadists are trolling the actress on social media platforms including Twitter where #MahiraKhan is still the top trend. But while the actress is silent on the issue, her friends from industry including Ranbir Kapoor himself, are reacting to it.

Kapoor released an official statement to give a shut up call to all trolls. “I’ve gotten to know Mahira in a personal capacity over the last few months. She is somebody who I admire and respect, for her achievements and even more for the person she is,” read the statement. “It is very unfair the way she is being judged and spoken about. What is also sad is the inequality in judgment just because she is a woman. I request you to stop the negativity and move on with your beautiful god gifted lives. Peace and love,” it added.

The Bollywood actor also added a note at the end of his statement. “PS: Both smoking and hate are injurious to health,” he advised.

Apart from Ranbir Kapoor, his father Rishi Kapoor, actress Parineeti Chopra, Varun Dhawan, Ali Zafar, Osman Khalid Butt, Momina Mustehsan, Yasir Hussain, Hamza Ali Abbasi and others also reacted on the topic.

“How do we know that here’s something more to this picture? He could have met her just outside there. They must have been in a restaurant or a place where they cannot smoke, that’s why they are smoking outside. In US, they have really strict rules that don’t allow smoking in public places. I can’t say anything more because I don’t know anything more than that,” told Rishi Kapoor to Hindustan Times.

“It is quite unfair, everybody knows it is unfair, and it will stop. Today, because of social media, everything becomes too big a deal,” told Parineeti Chopra during the promotion of her upcoming film. Varun Dhawan, who is currently promoting his Judwa 2, also reacted on the response coming from people. “Shame on them for shaming her,” he said.
