Pakistan Women Cricket team’s most successful captain Sana Mir wrote an email to fellow players to inform them that she won’t be coming to Pakistan camp for upcoming New Zealand series. But, this did not end here as someone leaked her email to media and made it public.
In an email, the former captain Mir informed her fellows that she won’t join the camp for New Zealand series under present Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) Women’s Wing headed by Shamsha Hashmi.
“As you may see, I have been invited to the camp and fitness tests along with all of you. It has been an extremely tough year for me along with all of you who have been in and out of the team because of various reason,” Mir addressed her fellows. “I am writing this to all of you so you may know it directly from me and no one else. I won’t be coming to the camp or travel with the team unless some crucial issues regarding women’s cricket are addressed, which I have communicated to the top PCB management,” she announced.

“I believe this women’s wing management has compromised players’ respect, merit and physical and mental well being. I am not willing to work in this setup unless things change for the betterment of women’s cricket,” she insisted.

Earlier this year, Mir wrote an open letter in response of former coach Sabih Azhar’s report on Pakistan’s defeat in ICC Women’s World Cup. “No one can have a 100% record but it’s disheartening to see a coach maligning the senior players who have been giving confidence and guidance to the youngsters for so long,” she complained.
The PCB has now recently appointed Mark Coles as new head coach of the Pakistan women’s team for the upcoming series against New Zealand in the UAE.
