Legendary drama writer Anwar Maqsood has finished writing one of the two film scripts he has been working on for sometime. The mastermind behind Humsafar, Shehr-e-Zaat and Manto, Sarmad Khoosat will direct the film. Maqsood announced this during a press conference of an upcoming theatre Hua Kuch Yoon Dawar Mehmood at Arts Council of Pakistan in Karachi.

Answering a question if fashion designer Asim Jofa will be producing his film, he said, “I have completed the script but Asim Jofa is a businessman and he left without saying yes or no to me.” Though the writer later confirmed that Jofa will still be doing his film.

“The story of the film is about a young Sarangi player, who is a known as Nawab Sahab in Defence society” he told about the story of the film. “Why is he known because of that big house, the film will reveal,” he added.

Maqsood previously wrote six scripts for Mehmood’s theatres including Angan Terha, Siachen and Pone 14 August, and Dharna. In Hua Kuch Yoon, Mehmood is working for the very first time with Hasan. “What I enjoyed the most working with Sajid Hassan is that he gives deep attention to details. You cannot make him write anything until and unless you convince him and prove it logically,” told the director.

“The play has 35 actors, three to four of them have worked before and rest of them are all acting for the first time and they are good.” He also told that there will be nine to ten set changes, which will be challenge to change during the play without making the audience bore,” he added.

“It’s a love story and a symbolic play,” “It will require a lot from director and actors,” he added.

“The play has 100 years of politics and I am very hopeful that this play will be a success,” wished Ahmad Shah, the president of Arts Council of Pakistan. “It will run for two months in Karachi” he added.

Hua Kuch Yoon will kick-off from November 22, 2017 in Peshawar and the last show will be performed on April 30th, 2018 at Arts Council of Pakistan, Karachi.
