Shah famed director Adnan Sarwar is set to comeback with yet another biographical sports film, Motorcycle Girl, which is based on the life of Zenith Irfan, the first every Pakistani woman to make a solo journey of northern areas of the country. Jawani Phir Nahi Ani actress Sohai Ali Abro will play the role of Zenith is the film.
Irfan was the first Pakistani girl, who, at the age of 20, decided to go on a solo motorbike journey to explore new areas. She also documented her journey in her Facebook blogs, ‘1 Girl, 2 Wheel.’ “The remarkable story of what Zenith did at such a young age caught my attention after Shah and I knew it was the right subject to turn into a film”, told Sarwar in an interview. “I have scripted a fictional world around the core true story of her journey and I hope that Motorcycle Girl will help further the cause of women empowerment in Pakistan,” he added.
Sarwar earlier made his big screen debut as writer, actor and director with Shah in 2015. The film was biopic of Pakistani Olympian boxer Syed Hussain Shah. Despite having some technical issues, it succeeded to receive praise from critics and audiences alike because of its emotional subject.
Motorcycle Girl has been co-produced by Jami under Azadfilm Company and scheduled for release on April 20th this year.
