Pakistan Super League (PSL) season III kicked off with one additional team, Multan Sultans, in Dubai this last week. Last night, Karachi Kings defeated Peshawar Zalmi in a close encounter and placed Multan Sultans on the top of PSL points table.

The newcomer Multan Sultans won initial two matches and top the points table till yesterday but then, it lost the third match against Islamabad United yesterday. Later on the day, Karachi Kings faced defending champions Peshawar Zalmi and defeated them in a close encounter. Kings needed three runs on the last three balls when captain Imad Wasim came onto batting and hit a six on the very first ball he faced.

With that win, Karachi Kings replaced Multan Sultans on the top of PSL points table.

Today, the Kings will be facing the biggest rival in PSL, Lahore Qalandars, who have not won any match yet in this season. Talking to the press last night, Wasim called it a ‘crucial’ encounter.
