This last week, a very disheartening video of a child went viral over social media in Pakistan and India. The child was seen being forced to learn numbers while pleading to avoid being hit by a lady teacher. Celebrities in Pakistan and India felt the pain of the kid and took to social media to condemn the unpleasant act.
Yesterday, an Indian media report revealed that the kid name was Haya, she was the niece of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa famed Bollywood singers Toshi and Sharib Sabri and that lady teacher was actually her mother.
According to Hindustan Times story, the video was made by Haya’s mother to show it to her father and uncle that how stubborn she has become. It was shared in family whatsApp group and went viral through unknown sources. “We know about our child better. Haya’s nature is such that after being scolded, the next minute she runs off to play. But, because of her nature if we don’t push her, she won’t study,” shared Toshi.
“All the crying was for that moment so that her mother doesn’t make her study and let her play. Haya is just about 3 years old. In every house there are different kind of children. Ours is a very stubborn child but is extremely dear to us,” he continued.
Reportedly, Haya’s uncle believes that it’s important for the child to learn, and it’s okay for one to overlook the tantrums of the child if it’s the question of education. “The homework she gets in nursery, of learning numbers, she’ll never be able to learn. All the crying was for that moment so that her mother doesn’t make her study and let her play. Haya is just about 3 years old. It’s not a big issue. In every house there are different kind of children. Ours is a very stubborn child but is extremely dear to us.” Toshi added.
So these famed teachers think there isn’t a better way to teach a child. It’s just plain ignorance and bad parenting.
