Startupper of the Year by Total is aimed to support social enterprises that are addressing social issues in the country.
Whether you are providing educational opportunities, trying to reduce child mortality, working to provide access to electricity to rural areas, building homes with eco-friendly materials, or anything that is improving the life of the people around you; if you have a feasible and innovative idea that has the potential to benefit the society at large, then you are eligible to participate in the challenge. However, you need to be between the age 18 to 35 years and your start-up enterprise should be less than 2 years old.
So glad to know, one of my friends has submitted her business idea for the #TotalStartUpperChallenge – her idea is community service based and (if selected) will really help boost some action in the domain of mental health. All the best to @AlizaMoiz

The first edition of the challenge was held in 2015, but was only limited to African countries. This time, the challenge is open to almost 60 countries all across the globe.
Three winners from each country will be selected, who will then be provided with financial support, extensive publicity and professional coaching. Among the winners, Total will also select six grand winners in their respective regions who will then be provided with additional support.
This time, Total has also included a Top Female Entrepreneur category in order to promote female entrepreneurs and give them an extra push to take part in the challenge.
The deadline to apply for the challenge is 13th November 2018.
