‘Outspoken against Social issues’ BBC acknowledged Mahira

Mahira Khan has been named in ‘BBC 100 Most Inspiring Women’ following her work towards raising voice for social issues.

In a statement released by the outlet, Khan was recognized as one of the strongest women across the world as she often stood for the social cause.

“Khan is no ordinary actor – she is outspoken against sexual violence, refuses to endorse skin-lightening creams and supports the fight against racism,” the statement read.

“She often tackled social issues in her native Pakistan by changing the narrative in films and on TV,” it added.

It must be noted here that Mahira has worked in famous TV serials in Pakistan. Meanwhile, she also featured in the Bollywood film ‘Raees’ opposite Shahrukh Khan.
