Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has finalized initial COVID-19 protocols for the upcoming seventh edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), penciled in from January 27 to February 27 in Karachi and Lahore.

According to the initial plan, 25-30 additional players will be made available in the league’s bio-secure bubble to deal with COVID-19 positive cases. These players will be part of an open pool and teams facing difficulties after their players test positive can pick the replacement.

A team can afford a maximum of eight positive COVID-19 cases at a time. The ninth case will force the cancellation of the match. COVID-19 positive cases will be sent into isolation for 10 days.

Meanwhile, PCB is making sure to bring South African players for the whole tournament. Teams will pick two additional players in the squad from the supplementary category on January 6 and 7.
