The oldest player in Pakistan’s current Test cricket team Misbah ul Haq has conveyed to the Chairman PCB Mr. Sheheryar Khan his desire to continue as Captain of the Pakistan Test Team. Accordingly the Chairman has approved his appointment as Captain of the Pakistan Test Team for the upcoming West Indies Test Series.

The Chairman has also approved appointment of Sarfraz Ahmed as Vice-Captain of the Pakistan Test team.

Misbah is soon going to turn 43 but with his strong fitness and performances, he has proved that he can still play for the national side. Yesterday, he was awarded ICC spirit of the cricket award during the Pakistan Super League 2017 final in Lahore.

Pakistan is set to play four T20s followed by three ODIs and three Tests against West Indies. The series will start from March 26 with first T20. The test series will begin from April 22.

The selection committee lead by former batsman Inzamam ul Haq will announce the team on March 17.
