Ali Zafar honored Pakistani athletes in a private event under the banner of his social foundation in Lahore.
Olympian weightlifter Talha Talib, Olympian Javelin Thrower Arshad Nadeem, Mountaineer Shehroz Kashif, and cricketers Nida Dar and Aliya Riaz were awarded 1lac rupees each for their services to Pakistan.
A video clip went viral on social media from the event in which Ali tied weightlifting challenge with weightlifter Talha. “I have challenged him [Talha] in weightlifting,” he shared while asking Talha, “How many kgs do we have to lift?”
“67 Kgs,” Talha replied. “Ok, Khuda Hafiz,” he joked and appreciated the weightlifter for representing Pakistan on a high note at Tokyo Olympics 2020.

It must be noted here that Talha finished fifth in Tokyo Olympics 2020 with a total of 320 points after breaking his own national record by lifting 150 kg in snatch whereas he lifted 170 kg in clean and jerk.
