Babar Azam, who is recently making waves with his performance out on the field, just became the fastest Pakistani player to reach 1000 runs in a calendar year. Nothing short of a gem for the Pakistan cricket team, speculations are now on a rise regarding him taking over the captainship.

In a post-match press conference, Azam was asked about his stance on being at the helm of team. “Every player is always ready for captainship. However, I have not yet thought about captaining the Test and ODIs,” he stated.

The player further weighed in on the positive effects of partaking in county cricket. “Playing in English county cricket has made a big difference to me,” he said, adding how it has heightened his confidence in batting.

Speaking of batting, the player aims to enhance his form. “I am bringing more improvement in batting. My focus is on the given match and I want my team to win because of my batting,” he said.

The player also had certain goals in mind. “I would feel proud to break Mohammad Yousuf Saeed’s records,” he said, adding how playing in home conditions always gives him the missing boost and is always an enjoyable experience for him.
