Celebrities donate to help Pakistan government fight COVID-19

In the wake of the current global crisis due to coronavirus, celebrities in Pakistan have come forward on the request of Prime Minister Imran Khan to support the government financially.

Actors including cricketers and people from different walks of life donated to Prime Minister ‘Prime Minister Relief Fund for COVID-19’.

Speaking to ARY, former prolific pacer Wasim Akram donated PKR one million to the government’s fund and requested people to come forward for the good cause. National team all-rounder Imad Wasim also donated as much money as Akram for government to combat coronavirus.

A-list actress Mahira Khan also announced donation for PM’s relief fund but refused to reveal the amount. Humayun Saeed also announced to donate PR 500,000 for the cause.

Former cricketer Basit Ali has also announced to donate his Youtube Channel’s earning for the next three months to this fund. Earlier, Test captain Azhar Ali also announced to donate PKR one million to the coronavirus relief fund.

It must be noted here that on Monday PM Khan addressed to the nation in which he announced a multi-billion relief package, setting-up a youth force and public fund. He also appealed to people to step-up and help the government in this crisis.

The government has also introduced a Whatsapp helpline where people can get all possible updates related to coronavirus.
