Prime Minister Imran Khan thinks that Pakistan’s entertainment industry went on the track of downfall after they started following the content of Hollywood and Bollywood.
While addressing in Amateur Short Film Festival in Islamabad, PM Khan highlighted the importance of original drama and film content depicting the culture and identity of Pakistan.
“Earlier, our industry used to produce content depicting the culture and identity of real Pakistan. Our content was very popular in the subcontinent,” he said.
“Unfortunately, we started following the content of Hollywood and Bollywood later on. It led us to decline after our content started featuring bold content/soft porn inspired by Hollywood and Bollywood,” he lamented.
PM Khan coined that there is a need to amend our tv and drama content to spread the actual culture and identity of Pakistan. “I believe we need to change this norm of following Hollywood and Bollywood. If we make our own original content, I am sure we will be able to lift this industry up again,” the Premier concluded.
