Mehwish Hayat talked about her interest in politics and hinted at contesting ‘2028 General Elections’ during a chat with Desiblitz.
Power in politics attracts ‘Jawani Phir Nahi Ani’ actress who has closely observed the impacts of global politics.
“I would like to say that I love the power that comes with politics – don’t get me wrong, I am not some sort of megalomaniac,” she said.
“I think that I am becoming aware of how much of our life is impacted by global politics. Something that happens in Washington could have an impact on the price of food in Karachi – we are that interconnected and interdependent these days. This fascinates me,” she added.
It must be noted here that in 2019, Hayat took notice of a fan’s Tweet which predicted that she would contest for Prime Minister’s position. Hayat replied wittily, “Make sure to vote for me in 2028 then, lol,” she wrote.

Hayat, when asked about leadership qualities she possesses to become a successful future PM of Pakistan, said that she is a fighter who never gives up.
“Wow, you are making this sound like an election debate already. Talking hypothetically and only hypothetically, I think that I have an analytic mind that questions everything. I also feel that I understand what the needs and worries of the average people are,” she reiterated.
Hayat, Tamgha-e-Imtiaz recipient, has proved her mettle in both films and dramas. Currently, she is busy with her upcoming project ‘Benazir Bhutto’s Biopic’.
