The Council of Islamic Ideology (CII) recently proposed a ‘women’s protection bill’ which allowed husband to ‘lightly’ beat his wife under a few circumstances. The proposed bill sparked fiery debate and received criticism from a majority of people. In a recent incident, Mahira Khan and Hamza Ali Abbasi recorded a video message to give reply to CII and their proposed bill.
