PEMRA directs TV One to review ‘Dil Na Umeed Tou Nahi’ content

Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) has issued notice to Tv One’s management over objectional content in their ongoing drama serial, Dil Na Umeed Tou Nahi.

According to the notice, Tv One’s management has been directed to review their content under the PEMRA’s Code of Conduct. The channel’s management has also been asked to submit a report on their editorial policy within five days.

“Script/dialogues and gestures being shown are highly objectionable and indecent. In this regard, episodes number 2, 3 and 6 are worth mentioning that contain indecent, objectionable scenes, abusive language, and indecent gestures which our against our cultural norms and commonly accepted standards of decency,” the issued notice read.

“Storyline/plot of the said drama is highly disturbing and not depicting the true picture of Pakistani society,” the notice added.

Written by Amna Mufti and directed by Kashif Nisar, Dil Na Umeed Tou Nahi touched subjects like human trafficking, child abuse, child marriages, women trafficking, teenage women used for prostitution or domestic slavery.
