Sindh Information Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah has confirmed that Pakistan Super League (PSL) season five’s second phase in Karachi will be held as per the schedule.

While talking to the media in Karachi after a high-profile meeting at National Stadium Karachi (NSK), Shah said that safety measure will be taken during the matches.

“The situation is under control of the Sindh Government and everything is fine. The PSL matches in Karachi will go on as per the schedule,” he announced. “We are making sure to implement safety measures on all match days to avoid any mishappening,” he added.

Shah said that sanitizers will be installed at all entry gates of the stadium along with thermal scanners to do medical check-ups of people. “Sindh Government will provide all possible facilities at the stadium. Medical cells will also be established for dealing with an emergency,” the provincial minister said.

It must be noted here that earlier some reports claimed that the PCB was considering shifting Karachi matches due to Coronavirus. An emergency meeting led by Commissioner Karachi Iftikhar Shalwani including Sindh Health Ministry and PCB representatives discussed the matter at NSK which leads to the decision that Karachi will host five matches in the second phase as per the schedule.
