In an appearance on Momin Saqib’s talk show, Had Kardi, Sheheryar Munawar, Ramsha Khan, and Mehwish Hayat showed up to promote their film, Teri Meri Kahaniyan. During the conversation, the host asked Sheheryar to share why he ended up rejecting a role in famed Bollywood actor Anil Kapoor’s film.
“I didn’t reject the movie, per se,” the actor started off. “I had turned it down on the basis of merit. I’m an actor and if I’m offered a role that I think is interesting and fun, I would do it. But at that time I thought that I couldn’t pull it off well enough so I had to turn it down. I didn’t reject it. I just thought it was not for me,” he said.
He also shared how he felt the movie wasn’t something he’d be comfortable watching with his family. “Because I felt like it was a movie that I wouldn’t be able to watch with my mom and family. I genuinely think that I should take up roles that are allowed by my mother and is very wholesome, so there’s that,” he said.

Regardless, according to Sheheryar, it was a total fan moment for him to have been given the opportunity. “But it was definitely a fan moment for me to have Anil Kapoor call me and offer me a role in his film. I still remember when I got that call. It was wonderful just to have that. But it was totally on the basis of merit. No other reason. And I think that’s how it should be,” he shared.
