After the Supreme Court of Pakistan (SCP) hinted at blocking Youtube, a large number of people took to social media to ask the government ‘Where is Digital Pakistan?’
It wasn’t too long since the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) banned PUBG, BIGO Live, and issued a final warning to TikTok. Bak-to-back targets on digital media platforms are creating disturbance among masses.
Here’s how people reacted to SC’s Justice Qazi remarks which hinted towards blocking Youtube in the country:
Youtube ban means baning Voice of Youth, this is Digital Pakistan? #YouTubeban pic.twitter.com/HAnAJ2SiQe

The government and these so called ‘institutions’ should ban the Internet altogether instead of banning apps and games one by one. This is getting intolerable and making a mockery of Pakistan – #YouTubeBan

It must be noted here that SC hinted at banning Youtube in Pakistan while hearing the case of a man, Shaukat Ali, involved in a sectarian crime. Justice Qazi Muhammad Amin and Justice Mushir Alam in a verdict raised questions at unregulated content on social media, especially content against the judiciary, the armed forces, and the government.
